Riotversary #5 … Five Days of Barrel Aged Beers & Collaborations

25 May 2018 Riotversary #5 … Five Days of Barrel Aged Beers & Collaborations

Riotversary #5 starts Tuesday, May 29. We’re delivering a week of barrel aged beers and “Rum Through the Ages” … beautiful and delicious rum drink recipes, from pre-prohibition to today. Also the kitchen is in on the act, serving smoked specials all week!

Barrel Aged Schedule:

Day 1 (Tuesday)

Straight to Black:outMadeira 12%
Imperial Stout aged 12 months in a single Madeira barrel.

Whole Lotta Bluebs 6%
We flew out with a sketchy amount of Maine Blueberries & drove in a blizzard to the brewery. We tasted 30 barrels oud bruin & finally chose 3 for our blend (Jimmy Page, Joe Bonamassa & Rob Halford). Our Zeppelin
inspired blend has a touch of oak with a soft acid profile with an elegant blueberry back note.

Day 2 (Wednesday)

God Of War 6%
Biere de Garde barrel aged with Brettanomyces claussenii.

Randolique  8%
We brought over a suspicious amount of Strawberry Hill Maple Sugar & Maine Grain Oats to Oostvleteren & spent the next 2 days brewing a tripel in an old school house. De Struise has a wonderful coffee roastery in the brewery, Matubu Coffee, which after drinking our 5000th cup we decided to add to the beer & age the “random liquid” in bourbon barrels. Dry, light bodied & dangerously drinkable.

Day 3 (Thursday)

O.O.B. Bruin  6.5%
Barrel fermented sour brown ale using mixed fermentation in port & neutral barrels, aged 2 years.

Solid Gold: A Decade Of Hits 10%
Nitro imperial golden ale with cascara (the husk & cherry of coffee beans). Extremely smooth with hints of earl grey tea & tannic cherries. Brewed at Marshall Wharf.

Day 4 (Friday)

Camino con Cereza 5%
Mexican-style lager aged one year on Montmorency cherries in a port barrel with lacto and brett.

10th Anniversary Redux 9%
This beer is a recreation of Allagash’s 10th Anniversary Ale, it’s a double white ale that we were obsessed with in 2005. While blending Novare’s 10th Anniversary at Allagash we decided to rebrew this gem. Jason found the old recipe & Rob Tod( Founder of Allagash) came down to the Riot to brew it, the rest is history

Day 5 (Saturday)

Saxual Revolution 11.7%
Belgian-style Tripel aged in Gin barrel with Brettanomyces

Le Le La Péche 8%
We blended this beautiful wild ale with our friends from Allagash for Novare Res’s 10th anniversary. We tasted many barrels & came upon a maple bourbon barrel named LeLe, it was a game changer. Our final
blend was a brett wheat foudre bier, Farm to Face, Avancé, unfruited Nancy & LeLe.

Bonus .. ON EVERYDAY!

Blushing Star 6.5%
Barrel aged Pilsner aged on local Blushing Star peaches from Kelly Orchard with brettanomyces.
