Position: Bar Manager

Q: What do you enjoy most about working here?
A: I’m lucky to work with an incredibly talented and driven group of people. Everyone has a real passion for the industry. I’m super grateful that I get to have a part in helping them grow and learn.

Q: When you’re not at work, what do you enjoy doing?
A: I’m a homebody honestly. I usually just want to cozy up with my wife and our cats.

Q: What is go-to drink order here?
A: Oh I go for something refreshing like a light lager and a shot of our Bierschnaps.

Q: Name something you’ve learned working here that has stuck with you.
A: I didn’t have much institutional knowledge of Tiki cocktails. I was way more of a minimalist with my approach before. Our menu has been grounded in that tradition since I started, and it’s been super fun learning how to layer so many flavors. It’s just so playful.

Q: If you could pick any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: Waterbending would be pretty sick. Probably for the best though because I would just end up doing some corny flair all the time or using it to annoy my coworkers to no end.

Q: Aside from Liquid Riot, what spot in Portland do you frequent the most?
A: @_room_for_improvement_ or @cocktail_mary pretty much always.

Q: What is your most overused word or phrase?
A: Squiddo
