You may remember we did a pop-up with Maine Oyster Company this summer where they provided oysters on the half shell on our back patio. Like many, we LOVE oysters here at the Riot and one of our favorite spots to visit is Maine Oyster Company. Not only can you find delicious oysters at their Portland Street location, but you can also try our Oat Whiskey in their special Smooth Riot drink (see recipe below).

With the tagline “Farm to slurp certified” at their very core they support Maine’s aquaculture. At their oyster bar in Portland they serve oysters from the Casco Bay, Damariscotta, Downeast, Midcoast, New Meadows, and the Southern Maine areas. Their menu also includes a delectable lobster roll, caviar, premium hot dogs, craft cocktails, and special liquor oyster shooters called the ‘Pearl Collection’. They work with 34 different oyster farmers and have their own oyster farm called Basecamp in Phippsburg, where they also offer shucking classes, traditional Maine lobster bakes and more.

Smooth Riot Drink Recipe

Ingredients

2 oz Liquid Riot Oat Whiskey
1 oz Amaro
3 dashes bitters
2 spoonfuls cherry juice

Directions

In a shaker pour in amaro, oat whiskey, bitters, and cherry juice. Shake well. Pour in glass and garnish with cinnamon and a cherry.

Yield: Serves 1
