We participated in MRW’s first “Spirit Quest” food and cocktail pairing competition on Sunday. We didn’t win the top honor, but we did well and we served 300 Questers, some of whom had never been to Liquid Riot before. It was great to see these people popping our special pairing into their mouths + loving the experience.

Here’s what we served:

Juniper infused house distilled Well…Vodka, beet, honey and a house distiller’s Bierschnaps rinse paired with: charcoal ash dusted cod, spruce Hollandaise and beet relish.

The kitchen crew did a great job during the busy afternoon and the bartenders outdid themselves. It was a great experience all around. Congratulations to the winners: TIQA earned the professionally judged prize and David’s won the People’s Choice award. We’re already thinking about 2017.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, we have Maine Restaurant Week to contend with. It runs March 1 -12 and we’re serving a special three-course menu priced at $25. Our MRW menu highlights favorites from the newly updated menu and entrees designed just for the event. When you arrive, arrive thirsty — bartenders and servers are planning to invite all of our MRW customers to try staff selection beer pairings. Or if cocktails are what you’re craving, they’ll be ready and waiting to serve you.
